The Department of Energy estimates a staggering 90% of US homes are under-insulated
The exterior of the living space starts in the attic. There’s a good chance your home doesn’t have the proper amount of insulation – especially if it’s more than ten years old. Under-insulated homes face a number of dangers:
- Energy loss through the attic
- Ice dam formation
- Higher energy bills
- Decreased roof life
- Moisture problems
- Mold & mildew growth
A poorly insulated home loses up to 40% of its conditioned air through the attic. That’s money flying out of your pocket and up through the roof!
Owens Corning High performance fiberizing technology
A “loose fill” (or “blown”) material, these nextgen fibers conform to any cavity and depth during installation, filling in around wires, pipes and other construction elements with superior R-value to keep energy bills lower. While other insulation products may settle over time, Owens Corning’s advanced fibers do more with less glass material, creating an efficient network of expanded “thermal reservoirs” that resist heat transfer within your attic or walls.
What is Insulation R value?
Insulation is identified and labeled by R-value. “R” stands for resistance to heat flow. The higher the insulation R-value, the greater the insulating power. In the winter, heat flows out. In the summer, heats flow in. Old building codes (which apply to most homes) called for less than R-13. New building codes require an R-39 depth of insulation. The Department of Energy recommends up to an R-60.
While some regard insulation installation as a “do it yourself” weekend project, we believe there’s too much at stake to risk getting this wrong.
Red River is a trained, certified and preferred Owens Corning insulation installer and can offer suggestions on problem areas in your attic that may be overlooked by an untrained eye.

Gutters
Keep your home’s structure safe – and look great in the process.
Updating your gutters not only provides immediate improvements to your home’s curb appeal, it also helps protect the structure, roof and foundation. Water can be the enemy of home longevity. Pooling around the foundation can cause foundation problems. Rainwater backing up above the gutters can cause roof damage and leaks. Quality gutters avoid these problems by routing rainwater off of the roof and safely away from your home.
Gutter & Leaf Protection
Your home’s most overlooked maintenance area
Gutters are often considered “out of sight and out of mind.” We can’t see how clogged they are, so we tend to forget about them until they cause problems. Once clogged, they can push water up and under your shingles – causing costly leaks and repair headaches, including damage to overhangs and walls.
The micro-perforated gutter leaf guard system allows water to flow into the gutter while allowing debris like leaves to flow over the top of the gutter. Made from heavy gauge aluminum, gutter leaf guards will not penetrate your roof shingles or void your warranty.
